Review: moonshot Micro Setting Fit Cushion and MultI Protection Tinted Moisture SPF 30/PA++

Angels!
The
weather lately really sucks, eh? Super humid and the hot air seems to be
trapped below as the sky’s covered with thick clouds. This is the kind of
weather that I hate the most, as it makes me sweat like crazy – which later
ruins my makeup and makes my hair limp as well!
Despite
the crazy weather change, somehow, I was lucky enough to receive 2 complexion
products from Clozette Indonesia. These babies are from the famous Korean
brand, moonshot, which is owned and created by the well-known South Korean
media agency, YG Entertainment. Inspired by space items, this brand aims for
trendy and modern women who dares to be extraordinary. As this brand is owned
by YG, moonshot’s products are endorsed by many big K-pop stars such as
G-Dragon and Lisa from Blackpink, making their products always on hype and
trending!
The
two moonshot products that I’m going to review today are Multi Protection Tinted Moisture and Micro Setting Fit Cushion. I am a big fan of this tinted
moisturizer and have almost finished one tube, so I’m going to talk about this
product first.
Multi Protection Tinted Moisture
Talking
about packaging, all moonshot products are housed in holographic box and are
indeed very pretty. These boxes are even prettier in person, camera just
doesn’t really do them justice!
Multi
Protection Tinted Moisture has SPF 30/PA++. This product is a tone-up base
slash tinted moisturizer that hydrates and preps the skin for flawless makeup
application. Packed with hyaluronic acid complex and panthenol, it aims to give
smooth and firmer-looking skin effect. It’s also enriched with vitamin complex
which can help to brighten and clarify the skin, also UVA/UVB protection.
Texture-wise,
this pink-tinted moisturizer is very lightweight on skin. It spreads easily,
plus it gives instant brightening & nice glowing effect to your skin –
thanks to the pink and tiny pearl particles! To be honest, for someone with a
neutral-to-warm skin undertone, I’m not a big fan of tone-up cream as most of
products like that often make my face appear pinkish and looking ghastly.
However, I really like this product because it focuses more on creating a
glowy, healthy-looking skin effect without overly toning up your skin. It
brightens your complexion a bit, spices up your face with nice glow and nicely
blurs pore too!
I can use Multi Protection Tinted Moisture both on its own and
as a nice makeup primer. On days when I don’t really feel like putting on heavy
makeup, usually I just slap this product onto my face and top it up with
translucent loose powder – bam, instantly my complexion is done and I look
alive! When I want to look extra, this product always comes to handy as well
and never disappoints. It serves as a nice primer which helps whatever
complexion product that’s applied on top of it lasts longer and stays put
throughout the day, especially those that have matte finish or feel rather
drying on my combination skin.
Next
up! This cushion is really famous since it’s endorsed by Lisa Blackpink, and
she’s currently the Brand Ambassador of moonshot! This Micro Setting Fit
Cushion is Lisa’s personal pick, as this product has lightweight feel on skin,
yet it’s able to deliver smooth and flawless finish to the skin. It claims to
have nice, buildable medium-to-high coverage and promises a beautiful
semi-matte finish that needs no setting powder. This cushion also has
non-clumping formula that adheres just like second skin and stays put all day
long. It’s also infused with 10 ppm of aqualicia extract to keep the skin
hydrated during the wear.
I
believe I don’t have to talk much about the packaging. Let the pictures speak
louder than words. moonshot definitely knows how to rock the packaging game!
Can
we, however, take a 5 seconds break to appreciate the holographic cushion
compact? The compact is lightweight, but feels very sturdy and looks super
pretty as well, eh! I am a big fan of anything holo, but the holo in this
compact is something that’s on another level: it has sophisticated feel to it,
something that’s unique and pretty but still looking elegant. Eye-catchy, but
not too much and loud like a disco ball!
For
my NC20-ish skin tone, I picked the middle shade: 201 Light Beige, a nice shade
for those with light skin tone. This shade has neutral-to-warm undertone, and
is possibly equal to shade #23 in Korean cushion. If you have fairer skin than
NC20 and cool undertone, opt for shade 101. This cushion has 3 shades in total,
and the last and darkest shade is 301 which is equal to shade #25 in other
cushion.
Speaking
of formula, this cushion lives up to their claims about lightweight and comfortable feel
during the wear. It also provides light-to-medium coverage and can cover up
bumps, redness, and slight discoloration nicely. I still need concealer to
cover up undereye dark circles. It has a satin finish and is non-sticky once it
sets. On my dry-combination skin, it takes around 5 hours before my T-zone
starts looking shiny. In my opinion, the Setting Fit Cushion is a type of base
product that will look even nicer when it starts to fade a bit, blending in
with your natural sebum. By the way when I wear glasses, this cushion does slide
off a bit in the nose area where the glasses sit. It’s easy to fix though – so no
biggies!

I
prefer to wear this cushion just above skincare, no primer underneath. For me,
this cushion is already hydrating on its own. Wearing it on top of hydrating
primer can feel a little bit too much on my skin, and I notice that my face would
get shiny quicker whenever I wear this cushion on top of a primer.

Overall,
these two moonshot products got #CarolApproved tag! If you’re looking for a
nice complexion product that will withstand the makeup-killer tropical humid
weather, go for these two! Personally I’d alternate the two products depend on
the mood and occasion: Multi Protection Tinted Moisture on chill, more relaxed
working days, and Setting Fit Cushion for events and other formal occasions.
Now I understand the hype about moonshot products – these K-beauty items by
moonshot are not only magical appearance-wise, but the quality of their
products are also awesome and magical as well!!
