Canmake Cream Cheek is so popular between us, but I never had a chance to try one until I did a mini haul back there on my trip to Hong Kong. From all the shades sold there, there was one that attracted me the most and it’s a true red color. Interesting, so I bought one and here’s the review for you!

Jewel-like Pot!

The packaging is made of clear plastic material and not very thick which makes this product so lightweight, and very travel friendly as for the size it’s also small—very convenient! It has a very cute jewel-like design, some people find it cheap looking but it’s cute for me LOL

This one is CL01 Clear Red Heart, and I believe this color is permanent. Canmake released their Canmake Cream Cheek Clear series last year, but this range seemed not to cause the hype like the original cream cheek series did. Hmm…that’s why I’m curious much about it.

Not Like the Original Ones…?

If you’ve already tried the original cream cheeks from Canmake, you must realize how stiff and not pigmented this blush compared to it. Clear cream cheeks has a totally different formula to their original series: it’s more translucent in color payoff, less creamier, and no shimmer or glitter inside. The texture is a gel-like—you know, when you press your finger on the surface and still it won’t left a deep hole trace there but the surface will bounce up back—and it’s very lightweight, making it’s easy to blend and to build up without ending up so messy with too much product on face…and you can never do that, because you gotta build from one layer to another to get the desirable color.

Most Natural Flush on Cheeks, Ever.

While these may be pros and cons between cream blush lovers, I like the clear series more tbh. It comes out very natural on face, definitely a no brainer blush for everyday! The tool you will prefer the most to apply this product is your very own fingers, as I found out using brush wouldn’t help much in building the color up instead of making the layer of color sheerer.

The photo above just doesn't do the justice, it's more brighter in real life! The finish is dewy and translucent; the texture of this blush tells you all already. It doesn’t dry to a powdery finish, it stays dewy all the day! CL01 is a true red and contains no shimmer/glitter, so it’s great making your face looks healthily flushed with barely seen blusher on. Looking scary on pan, this blush actually shows up beautifully on face. I swear it stays more than 4 hours on top of foundation before starts fading up too.

Retailing for HK$76 (580 yen) it’s quite cheap for a tag of drugstore blush. I will definitely grab more shades from this range! (Psst, I heard Canmake will release one new shade for the Clear series and it’s O.R.A.N.G.E.—gotta have it!)

Cream blush is really for those who want to achieve a healthy, very natural flush on cheeks without looking overdone. If you’re new to the cream blush world, looking for the most no-brainer great product, Canmake Clear Cream Cheeks is the right one for you! It’s super blendable but also buildable, yet very convenient in size making this product perfect. The staying power is also great plus the color range it has is pretty unique ranging from a true red, to an odd red-orange color. Will definitely collect them all if possible! XD

Aside from the award, I have things to share to you girls and maybe, can you gimme some opinions regarding my “confusions”?

As maybe some of you have known, I just turned 17 this year. I’m now in my last year of high school, meaning next year I really have to go to university to continue my study. And this is what my confusions are all about. Questions like “where will you go” or “what subject will you take” is too common for me lately but not very depressing (already), but what really wandered around both in my heart and my mind is:

Will you be able to fulfill all the required terms & conditions?

As for my grades and the scores I got during my previous years, they were all neither bad nor excellent—all around 8.5 like so. I honestly admit that I accepted some letters of offering to universities which affiliates to my school about the free registration fee and they were only issued to around 50-80 people out of the total 400 students of my batch, but none of the universities have interested me to go in there. My friends kept telling me for not being stupid and threw all the chances I'd got just to go for something bigger and maybe, unreachable. I dream for something bigger and…well, am I wrong for doing so? This is the case one, by the way.

Jakarta was on the top of my destination list when it comes to choosing universities, but suddenly it was announced that one government-funded university in Hong Kong was about to come to my school and doing one private presentation, and it was so exclusive even to join the presentation you gotta sign up first. I signed up and attended the presentation with all excitement, the butterflies on my stomach were all wilder than ever—wilder than the moment when I saw cute guys around, seriously—and my brain entered the clown & circus mode. You mustn't wonder how much I love Hong Kong from the people to the country itself from the posts about them here. I honestly say to you here, just right after I got home from HK it’s like I badly wanted to live like forever in that country. And that’s how all the confusions started. Case two:

How do I happen to be granted a scholarship there?

My score met the minimum requirements, but the information I gained from the website told me quickly as non-local applicants are not to be granted any financial assistance. Is it true? The living expenses in Hong Kong is sort of…crazy, especially for the accommodation there. The tuition fee in Polytechnic University—yep, that’s what I was talking about in these last 2 paragraphs—is not really expensive for the international student like me, but it’s definitely much more than what I have to spend for my school here. If there were a chance for scholarship, how can I not try to apply?

The information about the scholarship is still blurred until now, I don’t really know whom to ask even my school claims to be their affiliate too. Sending our students there had been done for the last 3 years, but I’m not sure if I can really get 100% scholarship there. God…this is the case three.

I know I have nothing to be afraid of actually, as trying can never be wrong—moreover it becomes a truly important moment of life, eh—and there’s nothing wrong to dream big, right?

I wasn’t actually over some famous names of universities, I’m more after what I can get and do right after I finish my studies. And I choose Hong Kong now for my destination, but only if I can get the scholarship because living there is nothing I can afford right now L I wish to have a career there so bad, and I think to continue my study there would be a great stepping stone for that dream of mine!

After a big psywar both in my head and heart, here what I’m going to do next:

1. I want to apply to the PolyU Hong Kong and do the interview—whether I fail or succeed, I will try my best anyway.

2. I have also an admission backups here in Indonesia, and still I choose to try my best to get the scholarship here (in UPH Jakarta too!)

Of the things above…you know now I’m a big dreamer. I dream big, but nothing is too big or too impossible until you try and pray hard for it. No dreams will come real without any actions and prayers. The confusions are actually no needed and they lead you to self-destruction, and yes I’ve been through that phase. I talked to a lot of people about my crisis and soon I realized I should’ve worried over everything. Now all I want to do is all the best I can do, whether it’s to do interviews or to write some essays. Wish me luck, kay!

You know how my skin is actually very sensitive is when…well, you see it yourself that I rarely do product reviews for complexion product! But today, I’m gonna review one face product, and it’s a base makeup (how awesome is that thing to work on me?) Like finally, I found my HOLY GRAIL powder foundation!

It’s from Make Up For Ever, and I believe this product has entered our beloved country Indonesia as well, that’s why I eager to review this right here right now, to ensure you this product works the beautiful it claims to work.

Separated For Good

It comes in a round compact packaging. Size is good, it’s not too big but not too small either. The overall design is sleek and professional looking.

The compact has a decent size of mirror and is separated into two parts: the upper part has the powder foundation and the lower one houses the sponge applicator—with some holes to let air go through and through. It’s good for hygiene reason!

Upgraded Version: Proved!

As for what the creator Danny Sanz claims, this powder is an “upgraded” version to those former powder foundations she created. This product is the latest version of powder foundation MUFE has, after 4 years have passed since their last foundations. Mine is shade #117 Golden Ivory, for shade reference please click here as I won’t talk much about it here. It's also formulated WITHOUT Paraben, how cool is that????

NO PARABEN YAY!

If you have tried the previous Duo Mat foundation like I have before, your first impression of this foundation won’t be so special instead of you hating it. Seriously, I’ve been through that phase. Trying this product more will let you to know why it’s beautiful on its own way—the way people also like it to be, or simply to say “less is more”.

The creator Danny Sanz used less talc in this foundation for a less cakey feeling and finish on our face. And yes, that’s what it is. I’m not literally a sponge person as I prefer using kabuki/flat top brush to apply my powder foundation when it’s possible, and using brush to apply this foundation seems to give no effect to my face. Imperfections are still shown through the thin layer of foundation, and eek it doesn’t cover any pimples but only redness! I swear I almost threw this product right away because it was a total disappointment to a girl who’s very fond of Duo Mat. But today I’m glad, I didn’t.

The coverage is very buildable even though it's pretty sheer in one swipe, but it also depends on the applicator you use. If you’re using sponge applicator, it would take less time to gain the desirable coverage, and of course using brush would take more time. As I go through and through some layer—probably 2-3 layers using flat kabuki brush—I almost didn’t realize when my face turned out very healthy, not dead matte, and very…PURRFECT? I don’t have perfect skin until today, but let pictures show you what I mean:

IT DOESN’T CAKE EVEN YOU LAYER IT THROUGH AND THROUGH, please refer to the side of my nose! No traces of powder there, eh????

How I Would Have My Perfect Skin Like

It gives an airbrushed look just right away—a thing not even my beloved Duo Mat can do. Duo Mat may have better coverage, but nothing can beat the finish of PRO Finish. Don’t believe me? This is a much zoomed in photo after using it more than 4 hours, outdoor, while me running a bazaar with my friends at a food stall:

This foundation feels very lightweight on skin too because it contains less talc in it, yet it doesn’t happen to clog pores which leads to the pesky acne. It can be used in wet/dry, but I use it dry until today because I don’t want to ruin the whole product just by letting water go in. Meh. Even to use it dry…it still blurs any imperfection to pores level, and no dead matte finish—I would say it has satin finish!

My teacher, my friends, my family were asking what clinic I’ve been visiting lately and admiring how “porcelain-beauty” my skin was. No kidding!

For the staying power, it lasts on my face around 3.5 hours before it starts to let some shine through, and of course a lengthened time with primer underneath! It doesn’t fade and oxidize through the day, even I read some people were having trouble with oxidation.

Repurchase With No Questions!

Retailing for $36, it’s actually not very expensive if compared to what you will have. Beside, every product has 10g of it and it’s quite a lot when it comes to powder foundation. No questions and regrets, I will definitely repurchase this again and again. And today, I’ve hit the pan. Just few months to go before the repurchase!

Last Words?

It’s definitely a holy grail. Using it dry is the way I prefer; you can set and build your foundation that way, still! Even you might want to take a look at some reviews or some shades yourself before finally placing an order. The shade selections may turn people on or off since getting wrong or right shades is only a line thin, but the quality is worth more of what you could expect—unless you’re a “heavy cakey makeup lover”.
