How We Style Bling Ribbon Choker [COLLABORATION]
As promised
in my previous OOTD post, here’s my first fashion styling collaboration with
other bloggers in town: Mindy and Redha!
A little background story: around 3 weeks ago, we went to Pakuwon Mall and did a mini shopping spree there because all fast fashion brands were doing further reduction on their sale items. H&M was not missed, of course, since it’s my favorite brand – even though the sale season in H&M was just like started and the price is, ahem, still high for
After
browsing through the clothes rack a little bit, we got bored and processed to
the accessories aisles. I saw this bling ribbon choker few days
before our hang out at Instagram, and I was like, maybe there’s few left in
store. I was right! The price of this beautiful bling choker was crazily cheap
too: IDR 25,000!
2 dollars for such a baby. Of course, I strongly encouraged the
other girls to get it too. HAHA HAHA HAHA.
Long story
short, after buying few more items (that will be styled together in another
collaboration post too, shh!) we decided it would be cool for us to make a
fashion styling collaboration and show how we wear this choker based on our
very own personal style.
The theme was
monochrome, because the main point of the look was already very eye-catchy and
outstanding. Without further ado, here’s how we style it:
As always, I went
with my signature red lips and simple-but-cute style. My look was inspired by French
artists – hence the beret – but with strong cute Japanese school girl vibes in
it. I picked white, off-shoulder smock top and paired it with a navy tennis
skirt.
The skirt was
a little bit too short, so I added fine knit legging and wear my new Lita
boots. A red, studded heart purse is perfect to match my lip colour and add a
little mysterious, gothic vibe to the whole outfit. To accessorize more, I picked
simple hook earring and beret-like head piece.
The ultimate styling
rule for a 4”9 like me is: wear cropped top and high-waisted bottom to create
an illusion of longer legs and taller figure! If you love wearing boots but afraid
that they would make you look shorter, just wear same-coloured tights as I did.
Solid tights will do better to create the illusion of longer legs than a
patterned, knit legging like mine – but it’s kinda boring so I wear this baby.
Just make sure they’re well-tucked in to the boots, so some part of your skin
will not be revealed and make people realize how long your legs actually are ~
I personally
think this outfit is very me: it’s simple, has strong gothic/mysterious vibe –
but nonetheless still cute as ever – and boots!
