Review: Lakme Makeup Illuminating Foundation 01 Ivory Glow
Few weeks ago, Lakme Makeup invited the
famous Kim Kardashian’s Makeup Artist – Mario Dedivanovic – to Indonesia for a
glam class and makeup demo. Sadly, it was held in Jakarta and I couldn’t fly
there – thus I could only watch the fun through Lakme’s Insta Stories. Anyway,
one of Mario’s favorite products was the Illuminating
Foundation. I was intrigued and been wanting it ever since. So, when I strolled
in SOGO last week and saw Lakme’s counter, I couldn’t be more excited – let’s
try this foundation!
doesn't it look lovely on me? ;) |
PRODUCT INFO
Lakme Absolute Illuminating Foundation
Brand: Lakme Makeup
Netto Weight/Content: 15 ml
Origin: India
Price: Rp 250.000,-
Where to buy: Lakme Makeup, Lazada
INGREDIENTS
Lakme Absolute Reinvent Illuminating Foundation
comes in a plastic bottle which is encased in clear outer part. Even though it
looks unique, I found it kind of confusing, since the bottle which holds in the
foundation is opaquely black so you can’t see how much product is left on the
inside. The whole packaging is made of plastic, including the silver,
metal-like pump inside the cap. To be honest, this makes the product looks kind
of cheap – but at least it’s travel friendly and the pump works perfectly, so I’m
good 😉
The shade that I got is 01 Ivory Glow. It’s the only shade with
pink/peach undertone, so I went with it. This foundation has 4 shades in total,
and the other 3 are just very yellow.
When I first swatched it, I quickly fell
in love with it – satin matte finish
with a beautiful gold shimmer! Texture-wise, it’s a liquid-gel with medium consistency. It’s quite thick, but somehow turns out quite thin and
sheer once applied on skin. I think the best tool for application is the good ol’
time foundation brush, because this kind of brush will not end up eating too
much product and the result will be more flawless. Trust me, big no to flat top
brush like Sigma F80 as it will just end up eating the product.
Due to the gel-like formula, this product
feels lightweight on skin and has light/medium coverage. However, this product
is not very buildable and can’t really cover up redness and pimples. A good
concealer underneath and proper skin prep is important especially when your
skin isn’t on its best condition.
This Illuminating Foundation is literally
illuminating and glimmering from shimmers – so don’t expect anything dewy like
Korean base makeup and get the two mistaken for one another, okay 😉 shimmer and glow is totally different! I’m
kinda afraid that this one will make my face looks like crazy disco ball when
is worn outside on daytime, thank God but it’s not.

For me, this foundation is perfect for
night time occasions and parties. It’s long-wearing and
won’t get cakey if you prime beforehand and set it right after application. Yes, it has SPF 20, but surprisingly no white cast or ghastly face when photographed with flash. It’s very photo-ready, as this
foundation makes your complexion appears poreless and super flawless on
pictures!
Score
Last Words?
Overall, I really love this Illuminating Foundation
by Lakme Absolute! It makes your skin looks bright, glimmering, and fabulous
especially when photographed with flash. The application, however, may not be
the easiest as the unique gel-like liquid is kinda hard to work with fingers or
flat-top brush. This foundation may cling on dry patches and doesn’t really
have much coverage, thus it’s best to wear it on those days when your skin is
great.

For me it’s yay, because I really had
hard times finding the perfect mix between matte foundation and liquid
highlighter so this product is a life-saver.
I’ll see you next time on another
post, ciao for now~ XO ❤👌
4 kisses
Thank you for informing that it will not good on dry patches. At first i was interested but since my skin is dry i would not buy it for the moment.

yep, you have to prep your skin well before applying this one :D
DeleteBeing a newby on make up this was really cool.
ReplyDeleteyeah, at least it's foolproof if you have difficulties to find a good way to mix foundation and liquid highlighter like I do! ;)
