Review: theBalm Even Steven Whipped Foundation
On this beautiful Friday, I have another complexion
product review for all of you. It’s from one of my favorite products: theBalm!
I’m quite a big fan of this brand, you can read my review of other theBalm
products that I have here and here. TheBalm’s products are mostly safe for me
and are sensitive-skin friendly, so I’m kinda excited to try their newest
complexion product: Even Steven Whipped
Foundation!
PRODUCT INFO
theBalm Even Steven Foundation
Brand: theBalm
Netto Weight/Content: 13.4 mL
Origin: USA
Price: Rp 400.000,- ($22)
Where to buy: theBalm Counter
If you think that this product’s name is
kinda familiar, you’re right! It’s inspired from the title of Disney movie,
Even Steven. The product is nicely and cutely housed in a small jar that is
made of nice yet sturdy acrylic-like plastic material. On top of the silver
cap, there’s another colorful Even Steven logo that exactly looks like the box’s
design.
This foundation has a unique whipped texture that feels like a mousse. With such
consistency, it’s very lightweight on skin yet easy to blend. Surprisingly,
even though it’s super light, Even Steven provides medium-high coverage with such a beautiful velvety finish. A little
goes a very looooong way 😉
It fills and covers up pores beautifully
too, thanks to the silicones in it.
Somehow the texture of this foundation reminds me of silicone-based primer like
Benefit Porefessional – it glides on
smoothly on skin and evens out pores,
but the only different is that Even Steven is a highly pigmented & great
foundation that needs no primer beforehand or powder afterward.

see the differences? Even Steven evened out my dark circles too! |
Anyway, the perfect shade for me is Light/Medium. I’m usually NC20 and #21 when it comes to Korean cushion. This product only has 6 shades in total, but no worries girl – as this will magically turns lighter once blended on face. Hence, it’s better for you to go for 1 or 2 shade darker than your usual shade.
ALL SHADES - swatched at theBalm's counter! |
arm swatch - looks oxidized, but once it's on face it looks as bright as on picture below! |
this is how it looks on me after freshly applied - looks a tad lighter on my skin, but it will oxidize a liiitle bit later. |
another bonus FOTD photo - look flawless like a porcelain doll, right? |
I usually wear this product without any primer or setting powder, and I could say that it stays put & beautiful even after some hardcore tasks like working out and doing photoshoot outdoor! It does transfer a bit once your skin sweats/produces sebum, but a little tap with tissue will just solve the problem and you’ll look awesome again in no time. On me, it takes 5-6 hours before shine starts to peek through the foundation. Plus, it’s not bad – instead the foundation will look more natural 😉
I see that some people with oily skin are
complaining that this foundation accentuates pores and looks like floating in them
after several hours of wearing or when the foundation comes in contact with
their natural face oil. However, I don’t
have this problem though, despite the big pores of mine and my annoying
dehydrated sensitive skin – which usually acts up! Even Steven still looks
gorgeous on me and it doesn’t cause me outbreaks. Yay~
Score
Last Words?
Overall, I think Even Steven Whipped
Foundation is my new Holy Grail complexion product! It offers high and full
coverage with beautiful velvety-matte finish, plus that it has long-wearing
formula that’s very suitable for such an active woman who needs to always look
flawless and gorgeous all-day long. Don’t underestimate the super tiny jar, because
a dot of this foundation can go for a very long way. However, this foundation
contains a lot of silicones – so if you’re allergic to it, sadly this one is
not for you ☹ My sensitive, acne-prone skin likes this
product so much though, because silicones don’t irritate my skin nor clog pores
as long as I clean my face properly at the end of day.

So, have you tried this baby or not? I
suggest you visit the nearest theBalm’s counter to try out this foundation
yourself before buying, because picking the shade can be a little tricky 😉 No worries, because it’s now already
available on theBalm Indonesia’s counters!
See you on my next post Angels, TGIF! 😍🙋
